There's a small convenience store located at 44 North High Street, just north of Broad & High, called "American Food & Drink Center". The exterior may look a bit uninviting, but there's actually a bit more to be found inside than you might imagine.

(The image is too small to read, but there's a large sign next to the front door that says that they do not sell single cans of beer or 40oz.)
The store is actually built out lengthwise and and runs a lot deeper than the entryway leads you to believe. Inside you can find the standard pop/chips/beer/cigarettes/lottery staples of a convenience store, but they also offer a variety of frozen foods, prepackaged to-go food (sandwiches, hot dogs, etc) boxed & dry goods (noodles, rice, cooking oils, condiments, etc), milk & bread, toiletries and cleaning supplies, lot of miscellaneous home goods (flashlights, umbrellas, batteries, gloves, etc) and even a small selection of wine and low-proof spirits (schnapps, etc) behind the counter. The biggest noticeable missing grocery items were meats and fresh produce.
The store is a bit dingy, but authentic, and the staff has always been friendly to me when I've stopped in.
They seem to always be doing brisk business when I've stopped in for a snack, but I'd be willing to bet that a bit of branding/marketing and a little bit of polish would do them a world of good in attracting shoppers who would otherwise steer clear due to the unattractive entrance and lack of a catchy name.
Their hours are:
Mon-Fri - 6:30am to 7:00pm
Sat - 11:00am - 6:00pm
Sun - Closed
A decent option for folks who live in some of the nearby condo buildings, and office workers or Downtown visitors who are looking for a quick grocery essential on their way back home.
