Another new distillery in Ohio shipping product starting tomorrow :

The new 80-proof vodka will be available April 1 for ordering by retail stores licensed to sell liquor and spirits in Ohio, and bottles should appear on those storesÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ shelves later in the week, according to Jim Finke, co-owner and CEO of Buckeye Vodka. The retail price for a standard-sized (750 ml) bottle will be under $20 Ã¢â‚¬â€ $19.35 in Montgomery County, Finke said. Some local spirits sellers have already pre-ordered multiple cases of the craft vodka based on word-of-mouth enthusiasm, Finke said.

Very cool. Looking forward to trying it out. Not a huge fan of the name though. ;)

Looks like the Downtown PSN liquor store is on their location map. I asked if they had a bottle of Watershed vodka a few weeks after they started distributing (and PSN is also on Watershed's map) and they had no idea what I was talking about. Grr...

i think i have some cheap well vodka of the same name, i hope this isn't a revamp of that with a heftier pricetag. and is this a grain to bottle distillery???

Coming to Ohio near the end of May...NutLiquor peanut butter vodka. Tastes like the center of a peanut butter cup at 69 proof. Blended to be very smooth, so it mixes well but can be enjoyed neat over ice.

I thought this was a joke based on the single post and the name but the website seems real. I would have a hard time walking up to the bar and ordering a nutliquor, buy maybe that's just me.

Nida's Thai on High, a restaurant in the Short North, sells a drink called the "Bangkok Buckeye". It's a chocolate & peanut-flavored martini which, true to many things Thai, packs some heat too. It very yummy and rather popular.

Grain to bottle distillery? No, not for $19. This is a quality value priced product made from commercially sourced neutral spirits, paired with a premium water product the owners already produce in Dayton. The folks at Buckeye partner with an outside company and source their base spirit from an ethanol producer (usually TX, CO or ID) -- some of which may come from OH sources, but its usually mass produced with grains from across the region. I'm very happy to see a local company make a splash in the well spirits market, but it would be misleading to call a product like this an artisan spirit -- that would suggest its made from scratch, and that's not the case. If you are looking for a value priced neutral option, this one may hit the mark... and it puts $$'s back into the local economy (a huge plus). If you are looking for artisan products that are 100% from scratch with grains sourced directly from Ohio farms, you'll need to look in a price bracket that reflects the true economics of sourcing, creating, and producing world class artisan products locally... and its not $19.99.
