Scout.com has the class ranked first in the country. Most everyone else has them between second and fourth. There were three local kids - Zach Boren, Jamie Wood, Storm Klein - which seems about normal compared to years past. Thoughts?

I might have missed it, but I don't see but maybe one "speed" receiver on the list. Which is what I have been saying we were missing badly last year. We had lots of possession guys... no deep ball guy.
then again the QB has to get better at HIS deep ball.

If the O-Line improves, we'll be able to spring more people deep. We didn't have anyone as fast as Ted Ginn, Jr., and won't this coming year, either; however, we were more than spoiled with him. The guys we have are fast enough that we'll have at least one mismatch on any pair of corners we're likely to encounter--including USC's--if we can buy enough time for them to get down the field before Pryor has to start running for his life.

USC must be defeated. They had better win the BCS with Pryor as well. Maybe not this year, but before he leaves, they had better win it. I think we need a receiver that demands a double team. Maybe not so much a speed guy, but a consistent guy who can go get the ball for 8 yards a pop will do. You can accomplish that with a 6 ft.8 guy with decent speed who can outjump DB's. But a spped guy would be great. Either way he has to demand a double team every time.

I think it looks like a really solid class. Definitely looking forward to seeing things really come together this season. I think we're seeing OSU move toward developing a good identity on offense with the dual-threat guys, so hopefully Pryor can improve his passing skills, heal his shoulder, and come out with a game looking more like Troy Smith did in his 2nd year as a starter (or better!)
As for deep-threat guys, Jamaal Berry (RB) and James Jackson (WR) both have 40 times ~4.3 , so there's some deep-threat speed there. Plus we've already got Flash Thomas who came in last year (technically came in an RB, but I expect him to get some WR looks).

Please tell me that's not his real name ...

Ray Small seems to be the fastest out there... but we all know his story. Duron Carter is the guy I want to see this year.
side note: Just out...USC game 8:00pm kick off.
