Buckeye Lake Brewery Opens February 5

A new brewpub will be officially opening in central Ohio this Sunday, February 5. The brewpub is Buckeye Lake Brewery, and is located in Buckeye Lake (as the name would imply), at 5176 Walnut Road. Buckeye Lake is about a half hour east of downtown Columbus, just off I-70.

BUCKEYE LAKE -- Rich Hennosy's "Plan B" quickly is becoming "Plan A" for Buckeye Lake-area residents. Buckeye Lake Brewery, on Ohio 79 just past the sharp curve, has exceeded even Hennosy's expectations since he opened it on Super Bowl Sunday. "Three years ago, when people were getting laid off, I wanted to come up with a Plan B for myself and my family," said Hennosy, an IT retail store designer for Big Red Rooster in German Village. "I never expected to come across this, but I fell for it."

On Restaurants | Simple start

Rich Hennosy entered the restaurant business because of his love of beer. It all began when he traveled west to participate in a three-day crash course in brewing beer and running a microbrewery. He studied under Tom Hennessy, master brewer at the Colorado Boy Pub and Brewery in Ridgeway, Colo.
