Trailer is out! It isn't safe for work. And asks for your birthdate. Hilarious though!

Can't wait for this.
Best line.. "How do you defend yourself from a man with two dildos"
Can't wait for this, hope it lives up to Borat.
I guess I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't find Sasha Baron Cohen's schtick all that funny. In related news, I will be the only person on the planet not peppering my everyday conversation with this film's version of "VERY NICE!"

No, you're not the only one.. As far as I can tell he's a bit of a one trick pony.. he just puts on a different costume and calls it something else each time..
This act quickly gets tedious for me.. (yes I've seen "da ali g. show", no I don't really think it's that funny either)
I think that the full length feature just isn't a good vehicle for Sasha Baron Cohen's style. I generally liked the short Borat elements that were part of da ali g. show. But the movie I thought was tedious at best.
I have to say, out of all three of his personalities, I like Bruno the least. So I probably won't be seeing the movie.
The only thing that would tempt me otherwise would be so I could see the parts featuring Ron Paul. See more:

I really have to wonder how they didn't figure it out ahead of time...
Anybody seen this yet. Looks like it has pretty positive reviews on Rottentomatos...
Saw it Friday, thought it was great. Followed the same formula as Borat but funny just the same. I thought it also moved along faster than Borat but def had a lot more of one particular ingredient. ;)

Hot damn, Cookie - we agree!
I, sans a brief snippet here and there, never saw Borat or Ali G because he is so unbelievably obnoxious I couldn't stand it even if you paid me.

Something funny about hearing this from the both of you.

Wow, a trifecta of agreement. That guy sucks.

yeah, it's pretty terrible... I saw bits of "da Ali G. Show" and that was enough for a lifetime. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is horribly unfunny.. when the last movie came out I could have sworn I was the only one...
It's kind of like paying someone to dance around you, smacking you over the head with lawn furniture and yelling all the songs from The Music Man at the top of their lungs in your face for an hour and a half. With a cheekful of chaw spittle.
Whatever blows your skirt up, I guess.
Wasn't as funny as Borat, not even close IMO. Plus the penis swinging scene was, ummm... disturbing to say the least. I wish I had waited until Netflix.

BUT HE DOESN'T KNOW THE TERRITORY!!!
Anyone see this?
Did Twitter Reviews Hurt Bruno at the Box-Office?
Saw it Sunday, loved Borat the first couple times we saw it, never watched Ali G. Bruno is funny, especially the second half. I don't think it's $8 funny, but $21 matinee funny.
I thought it was pretty good. With Borat you really didn't know what to expect. With Bruno you know the routhine, but it was still funny. Asking the cop if he was Paul Blart made be pee and the UFC fight at the end is eye opening and a great snapshot of the redneck mentality. I will buy on DVD and put in right next to my Borat DVD. Lutz FTW!
I thought Borat was hilarious.
It was so successful because Cohen shined a light on racism, anti-semitism, celebrity worship in America by taking on the role of a racist, anti-semite, etc.
I'll avoid Bruno because he tried to expose homophobia and make fun of the fashion industry by playing the role of a flaming model. I think instead he should have played a homophobic character in Bruno.
I think his problem was that he gained a lot of publicity by crashing the fashion show and the word got out about Bruno and then he got stuck with little material to work with.
