I went by the Brownstone on Main a few weekends ago, and I didn't see any activity. I was aware they closed, but thought they opened back up. Whats the deal with this place?
And if it is open...how is it? Do they play jazzy music?

I thought it went to event only?
The Ohio Art League is using if for their annual One Night Only event:
One Night Only
So it is similar to BoMa now?
I think so, I know for sure OAL is having their One Night fund raiser there next weekend.
I'm really bummed that this place closed. Tuesday night poetry in the basement was great. The bar was always high energy and full of fun people. The food was always hit or miss with me. We had a work luncheon there and the orders were completely screwed up -- half were missing, cold, prepared incorrectly, etc.
Yeah, my impression is that it was a bit of a misleading advertisement when an event-only group decided to "reopen" without it really reopening:

I think it's been for sale for awhile, so there's potential for it to re-open, although I doubt it will be under the same name.
I think the former owners still owe the City $250,000 for a business loan. Wonder if that would come out of the building's sale price?
I live in the Red Brick District. The last I heard the building was purchased via an auction by the owner of the Ohio Lofts and other properties on the block. It's my understanding they are looking for a tenant. In the meantime, they have leased it to event parties.
The city loaned $250k to a restaurant?!
Wow! I'd like that loan, please!
Something is going on - they have the windows papered up and they are remodeling - taking out drywall, etc. Does anyone have any idea what's going in there?
I have an idea, but working on more concrete details. ;)
Well they are still working in there, they delivered ovens last week and a GFS semi was there today so things should be happening shortly.
Shortly means they just put an ad on Craigslist for Servers & Hosts which means they finally will be opening.
The space should be quite different from The Brownstone because of the sheer volume of what was taken out of that space, it will be interesting to see what it looks like when it opens.
