Arnold Schwarzenegger statue could be coming to Ohio

He has been a Hollywood star and a powerful American politician, and now Arnold Schwarzenegger could be enshrined as a statue in Ohio. The city of Columbus has been mentioned as a possible destination for a 9-foot, 580-pound bronze statue of Schwarzenegger in his bodybuilding days, according to a report in the Columbus Dispatch.

I'm all for it. For as much as he has brought to Columbus with the Arnold Classic, he is well deserving of a permanent statue of considerable size.

But Doc Savage was the Man of Bronze. Not Arnold.

And HELLS YEAH they need a 9 foot statue of Fred Ricart making the "we're dealin'" hand movement right next to him. We need more bronze statues of local pop culture icons. Fred and Lyn Ricart, The Golden Voice, Zach Allen Starkey and Damon Zex could pose together for one....

OK, for the statehouse lawn, install a Damon Zex statue holding a model UFO under his arm, glaring at the statue of Jim Rhodes with the briefcase.

I propose a 300 ft Arnold on the East side of town & a 300 ft Columbus on the west side, with them shaking hands directly over the Columbus Commons. Bungee jumping could be offered from a platform built into their clasped hands.

We could have a scale Glacier on the north side & a scale dinosaur on the south side... and a Godzilla in Fton and King Kong on the Leveque.

And because those Butter Jesus people will try to outdo us, I say we preempt them by building a Moses at the Confluence and we could do an hourly "parting of the Red Sea" demonstration - similar to Old Faithful, but biblical.
