This has to be among the best topic titles ever. Only wish I saw the spectacle itself!
This thread needs pics.
the 2 girls were wearing what appeared to be black bras or corsets, black panties, black thigh high fishnet stockings. (i was across the street) they were holding signs that said something, the signs were in the shape of hearts. and they were standing in front of a large pile of bananas, like 3 feet high, not boxes of bananas, just a pile of yellow bananas. there were 2 horse cops on each side of the women.
Was this today?
yeah, about 1230pm. SE corner of Broad and High.
Dam ! I always miss the good stuff.
did any of them look like this?

This "monsters of berlesque" show is happening on thursday at Circus (formerly high 5). They're a weird and funny group and it wouldn't surprise me if they did something like this.
No, the girls had black hair (I think, I didn't really notice) and didn't really appear to be "hamming" it up. they were just walking around and passing out bananas I guess.
it was something I just noticed in passing. if I had blinked I would have missed it. I didn't even notice them on my way to Cinco, I noticed them on my way out.
Kinda sounds like PETA to me. Did their signs say "I'd rather confuse the hell out of people than wear fur?"
They were PETA girls.
Also....lots of creepy looking dudes and guys with camera phones!
God, I hate PETA.
The girls were indeed representing PETA, but they weren't the only ones on that corner - I got handed a flyer for something having to do with wind turbines...
The bananas were handed out as an alternative to meat. Someone on the bus I was on said "Why not cantalopes instead?"
Well I thought it was going to be something exciting or new. They should be topless next time it's legal here.
Whenever someone tries to hand me a flier I say "no thanks." I would take a banana though.
Banana, the bacon alternative...

Why should they be topless? Why should they be in their underwear? All that does is give people the impression that they're strippers rather than people with something to say. For all their bloviating about how animals are treated, they've got a pretty fucked up attitude about how women should be treated.

Well they have that whole campaign ( Rather go naked then wear fur) so I just figure why not go topless.
But you make a very valid point I never thought of it that way before. Now that you have said that I could see where that would be exploiting women for the sake of animals.
I wonder if then doing that ever makes someone change their eating habits or clothing habits ?
It don’t for me but I believe animals were put here as a resource.
I have been involved with bananas and black linderie but it is usually at a crazy afterhours.
