I was planning on it until I went to my first show at The Basement last Friday and I will never go again, lol. I had no idea it was laid out so poorly. The only saving grace, $1 cans of Natty Light :)

really? i love the basement. i hate big venues though. unless its a buffett concert or something.
however, i did see wilco at the wexner center on campus and i love love love that place. plus i had 5th row center. don't be jealous.

Different strokes, different folks. I haven't found a venue here that I LOVE like I did my places in Dallas and Austin. Little Brother's with a big sound overhaul would have been it. Skully's will be awesome, if and when, they make all the improvements that have been discussed here. Wexner is awesome for some shows, and some of my favorite shows in Columbus have been there (see Fav Concerts thread). I want good sound, good visibility, and good bar. Those three things seem to be impossible to get in this town, but I'm adjusting.
Sorry to derail, back to BSP!!!

yes the Basement is poor if you actually want to "see" the band. but $10 tix, cheap drinks, good bands....i can't hold the venue against the music.

Oh, are they all cheap shows there? Louis XIV was only $5 so I didn't feel ripped off or anything.
