I guess I did sound kinda old. Either way, I'm stoked! Beers and fun on my block is rare when it's not at my house. Props to all the artisans on High St between Longview and Brighton (aka, "Downtown Clintonville" according to some... not me)

Heh. Really, I just assumed a Thursday was picked because Fridays & Saturdays are always busy for everyone.

Wow... all those sponsors.... and we didn't even have to be asked.

I'll be so fat from stopping by Simple Sweets and Pattycake and will need to work in a nap at Cup O Joe before I could possible arrive.

Anyway, I am quite excited about this!
(Where do you consider downtown Clintonville to be? I'd shift it just a teeny bit to the north, to North Broadway and High...)

If there was a downtown Clintonville Nancy's Kitchen would be city hall and the center of all things Clintonville. This would not be in question if you are a real villebilly!
Also I cannot think of a worse name for a tattoo shop now that Agressive Hippy has been taken. That and how agressive is a tattoo shop that only has quarter sized flash on the walls.

You can't take Nancy's away from Clintonville! open or closed there is nothing that more reflects the neighborhood as a whole.

That and how agressive is a tattoo shop that only has quarter sized flash on the walls.Well, I grew up on Clinton Heights (one block south of N. Broadway), so I think I get to call myself a villebilly (whether I actually will, well, that's another question)! I was just wondering about others' perspective, since I've heard other folks refer to Broadway & High to be the northern end (when I'd consider it the heart).
(This is totally off-topic, but I think we went to elementary and high school together, btw.)
If I had to choose, I'd say Whole World, in all of its granola-y-ness, is the heart of Clintonville (though I'd also say it's difficult to choose just one place). Olympic would be up there, too. And if Talita's were still around on this end of town, it would be a contender as well. At least, those all loom large in my personal history. In more recent times, I'd say the area around Cup O Joe, Pattycake, Wholly Craft and Lucky 13 is the social--if not geographical--heart of the area.
Anyway, I wouldn't get too torn up about Aggressive Hippy--if history is any indication, it won't be around for long, as that location seems to be a business-killer.

Can sunbubble make a return for this block party

I have tried to explain Sunbubble to my husband, but each time I do, it sounds more and more like a brothel. (I think I've had its jingle stuck in my head for the last two decades, too.)

Sunbubble would be in those sections everyday if it were still around.

I was just talking to my neighbors about Sunbubble. One of them worked at a bakery next door to it and seemed to think that something illegal may have gotten it shut down, but couldn't remember anything specific. Also, I just got the theme song stuck in their heads and fear they may never speak to me again.
