Columbus Railroads has a few aerials as well - there's a lot of railroad infrastucture on the left side of this 1935 photo. Follow the link to expand the photo.

Coupled with global warming, things will happen fast. By the time we start finding kayak halves like split nutshells along the banks, it will be too late.

If you want to scope out the 1957 histoicaerials.com pictures on paper, the map area of the Main Library has the book from which they were taken. It's 3'x3' and probably weighs over 50 pounds.

There's an amazing map room at the Franklin County Engineer's office. I was there recently to meet County Engineer Dean Ringle, and got a brief tour. It's a local historic map nerd's wet dream.

I will definitely have to check that out sometime.
I like using the compare (slide/disolve) feature of historiaerials. Just look at the density of downtown in 1957 and 1971 compared to the 21st century images. Imagine downtown with both the height of today and the density of the bygone years. Wow.
