empty it and make it a dog parkeasy to pick up poop off concrete
Doubt they'd do that with the Wheeler Dog Park behind Giant Eagle less than a mile away.

Outdoor public bath house?
^That would require water, wouldn’t it?
Mud* wrestling pit?
*Goose poop
Oy...
The Goodale Park pond leaked through the weekend dropping more than two inches since Friday.
http://www.dispatch.com/content/blogs/the-city/2012/04/goodale-park-pond.html
So very frustrating, and sad.
Maybe this will end up being the fountain's fault and they'll end up having to replace it with a cheap alternative,,, like the one that used to be there?
I'm beginning to think it is the fountain's fault. Footings for the fountain penetrated the bottom of the pond. When the bentonite was spread out, were they able to cover every square inch beneath the fountain? I kind of doubt it - the footings are arranged in a circle making it difficult to reach the center...
The Dispatch article said the fountain weighed 750,000 lbs. That can't be correct, can it?
as a rule of thumb a 1 cubic meter block of stone weighs right around 2.5-3 tons (give or take a fair amount depending on rock type) That thing looks like its around the right size (maybe 10-15 cubic meters) that 75,000 lbs might be a more believable figure if one wants to guess someone at the dispatch tacked on an extra 0 by mistake.
total suck that it's still leaking, though. Maybe someone can figure out which contractor can take some of the liability for screwing this up?
City adds water to leaking Goodale Park pond for bridal partyFew brides are going to stand for a less-than-perfect wedding day.
That’s why Columbus parks officials are pumping groundwater into the leaking Goodale Park pond to help ensure that one couple’s nuptials go off without a hitch on Saturday. This spring, a leak has drained 10 1/2 inches of water from the pond since April 1 3.
aww, i love paying for strangers weddings!

I'd say the bride has bigger worries than low water levels on Saturday. It is supposed to be 48 degrees and rainy. Who plans an outdoor wedding in April??
Wellwater pumps can get expensive. I once worked out the cost of electricity for a small pump in a backyard pond - something like $60 a year. I would guess the pumps for Goodale cost more.
Waiting for someone to blame fracking in Eastern Ohio....
seems as plausible as anything else at this point.
Damn Frackers!
