Comedy & Music Festival
July 16-18, 2012

Celebrating music, comedy, and beer, The Brew Ha Ha will include:

• Host Garrett Morris, original Saturday Night Live cast member
• The 4th annual Shadowbox Live Sketch Comedy Competition
• Local stand-up comedians
• Local and regional live music
• Headliners for each Evening of the festival
• Beer tasting contest feature local and regional microbreweries
• Live music and food and drink specials from Brewery District participants

For the past three years, Shadowbox Live has had great success hosting sketch comedy troupes from around the nation in the annual Sketch Comedy Competition. This year, the event is being expanded into a three-day, district wide festival taking place July 16 – 18, 2012!

Brew Ha Ha – New Comedy Festival Launching in July

For the past three years, Shadowbox Live has been producing a Sketch Comedy Competition at their old Easton location. In response to the success of the event, and to capitalize upon last year’s relocation to The Brewery District, the group is expanding the show into a comedy and music festival called Brew Ha Ha, which will span three days and multiple venues.

In just a few days we'll be hosting the first annual Brew Ha Ha.

This is part of our promise to do our best in helping to revitalize the Brewery District and we hope you'll do YOUR part and come have fun. ;)

On 9 stages you'll see:

20 bands

20 stand-up comics

8 sketch comedy troupes

6 local breweries

and 1 magician

In addition to celebrities like Garrett Morris, Drew Hastings and Hamell on Trial, we'll have a plethora of local talent (Jefe, do you know what a "plethora" is?) and 8 sketch comedy troupes from all over the country participating in the 3rd annual Sketch Comedy Competition. I know what you're asking - why a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday? Here's our answer:

Thanks to the giant crowds that stuck with us until midnight last night!

Day 2 gets started at 5 p.m. with bands and beer tasting and at 7:00 we showcase the next 4 troupes in our Sketch Comedy Competition.

Our headliner tonight is Hamell on Trial. Seriously, if you've never seen this cat live you're really missing out. He opened for Ani DiFranco a few years back and is an absolute blast to watch onstage.

It looks like there's a show featuring local stand-ups tonight at 6 at Via Veccia. Anybody know what the admission price for that is? I can't tell from the website. :(

Brew Ha Ha Comedy Festival Wraps Up Tonight

The first annual Brew Ha Ha comedy festival comes to a close this evening in the Brewery District with a full lineup of events. Comedic shorts and beer tastings will be happening at Brewmaster’s Gate, there will be stand-up comedy at Via Vecchia at 6:30pm, comedic local band Drawing Airplanes will be performing at the Backstage Bistro at 5:30pm, and much much more.

Just want to say thank you to everyone who braved a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night to check out the Brew Ha Ha. We had an absolute blast putting it together and there was some amazing talent in the Sketch Comedy Competition. Already looking forward to next year!

I had an absolute horrible time last night at the Sketch Fest....

Redo!

Can I get a redo on that?

I had an absolutely amazing time last night at the Sketch Fest! And it was extra cool to come out of Shadowbox's main stage area to encounter a room full of people drinking and listening to stand up in the Backstage Bistro, and then to spill out to the patio/alley and run into people and see people walking up and down Front Street, hitting the food trucks parked outside, people attending the beer taste & music next door at Brewmaster's Gate, and so on and so forth.

Entertainment was alive again in the Brewery District! Props to Team Shadowbox for making it happen!
