There's also something called an "urban lifestyle" and we happen to have a walkable, bikeable community here where you can be car free.

Too difficult to get to the golf course without a car. That's why I would never choose to live without a vehicle.

Right on, I think everyone has their reasons, which is cool. I'm assuming you're not driving to BP stations and picketing them, which reaches to the very top of stupidity and irony.

I've been car free for about the last year or more. It's possible, though I understand not for everyone given their lifestyle.

That said, I do think it's possible to reduce a lot of the driving we do.

You should see the looks I get from people when I say I'm walking/ riding a bike to Barrio from the Short North.

There are many reasons why the arguement that 'anyone who drives is complicit' for the BP oil gusher:

Or anyone who takes the bus, which uses gas
Or consumes a product that needed gas to get there or used gas to manufacture.
Certainly you can't use electricity or heat your home.

Well, that's just about everything.
Really,
Unless you are going to live in a hole in a field, wearing an elk pelt for warmth and eat rocks, you must be evil and your rights must be taken away.

This is crazy talk. Clean energy solutions exist. BP and the other hydrocarbon companies keep clean energy technologies out of the market because it is fabulously profitable keeping people dependent on hydrocarbons.

The hydrocarbon industries do this by funneling a small share of their profits to the politicians and judges on their payrolls.
