Ideally, I’d like to start each day with an egg, sausage, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. However, I’d like to find something that’s vaguely healthy, inexpensive, easy/quick to prepare, and tasty. The sandwich option only fits into one of those categories.
i have a $5 solution that'll change your life, or at least change your mornings like it did mine.
at harry & david @ easton by the registers they have a tiny li'l microwave egg pan, looks like something made by ronco in the 70's: two little plastic clamshells with a snap-together hinge. bought it on a lark, like i said, only a fiver, so f*ck it, yaknow?
this thing changed breakfast for me overnight. for YEARS now, actually ever since i worked at coffee table, my breakfast has been a bagel (or a half bagel) with peanut butter, and that's only been to cut the acid-burn from my morning 4-shots-of-espresso. within a day or two i discovered that this li'l microwave pan makes the PERFECT egg-mcmuffin style fluffy egg patties in a minute-15. two eggs cracked into the little pan, pinch o' salt, stir it up with a fork and nuke it. toast the english muffin/bagel, nuke up or foreman up two morningstar maple-flavored veggie-sausage or a slice of canadian bacon and grab a slice of munster. total cook time about 4 minutes, total cleanup time about 1. most perfect simple, filling and delicious breakfast i've ever had.
seriously, everyone reading this NEEDS this thing. it's the perfect breakfast tool.
