On May 15th I received a notice that I needed to prove that I have vehicle insurance. I thought I did so when I renewed my license but what the heck. So I mailed it in on March 25th from the blue mailboxes outside of Kinko's downtown. Today I receive notice that my license is due to be suspended for failing to provide proof of insurance for date February something. I mailed in a letterhead copy from the insurance company as well as a copy of my insurance card both of which clearly state I paid January through July 2008 coverage. Add a dandy little $130.00 fee to reinstate my license should they move forward. So I called the nice lady who refused to give me her name and asked her for a fax number. They don't have one. I asked for something other than the PO box for an address so I can send it certified. Guess what?
So now I guess I'll send 5 copies a week until they ask me to stop.
Anyone else have this type of issue with the BMV?
