Exactly we finally have a nice defensive line. We'll probally draft Nail Yakapuvo and he'll be a RW across from Nash to go with our front line. All we need now is another Center and a franchise Goalie.

Columbus is shivering with Final Four fever, spring football practice is under way, and baseball season has officially commenced. Meanwhile, Rick Nash is playing what are, with little doubt, his last games in a Blue Jackets sweater — and it is barely causing a stir. What a sad and strange denouement for our city’s best professional athlete. Nash played in his 669th game and registered his 541st point as a Jacket last night. The team he has represented for all of his nine NHL seasons defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-2 before a crowd of 12,432 in Nationwide Arena. Half the patrons wore red.

Mason is a phenomenal goalie if he has enough backup that he isn't holding the entire defensive line. THAT is the problem that needs to be solved.

Rick Nash trade sweepstakes about to open back up

There are now 28 out of 30 teams who can sit back and assess where they are. In another two weeks everybody will be there. Why state the obvious? Because it means that the trade market is starting to percolate and that trade market, like this past deadline, will focus around one goal-scoring captain from Columbus. Of course that would be Rick Nash, whose time with the Blue Jackets sure seems to be done.

Why It's Time for Columbus to Let Rick Nash Go in Peace

If you're like me, you've slowly made your peace with the fact that, as we inch closer and closer to the draft, Rick Nash will most likely be traded sometime in the near future. When the news first broke that Nash was on the block in February, I didn't want to believe it. One of the hardest things to do when I go and cover a game in the press box is to turn off the "fan" switch. I do it; but there were some times the first few times I went in which I was still a little giddy-nervous to go into the dressing room and talk to some of these guys.

this years draft looks one of the best in years... I hope we take Ryan Murray or Nail Yakapouvo. Either one of them will be immediate starters. All we need after that is a franchise goalie. Maybe trade Vancouver?
