I posted a long, rather gushy note Sunday about the Jackets really looking like they're playoff bound -- but I can't find it for some reason.
For those of you who didn't see it, they had a fantastic, and long-overdue blowout in Detroit Saturday night, 8-2. Atop the scoring fest was Rick Nash, with his fourth hat trick -- all three unassisted.
They looked crisp, prepared, and were working like they actually knew each other. They looked like they really, truly belong in the playoffs!
As a Jackets fan since their inception, I am, of course, waiting for the other shoe to drop (Legionnaire's disease in the locker room? Tragic air accident with the team plane?) but for now, I'm pretty happy.
Plus they face my least favorite team in hockey Tuesday -- and I think they'll beat them, too!
