So I'm waking up early this morning and listening to the radio, and Mr. Radio man says somethin' about snow and 15 inches.
I said 'what'?
So, for ya'll who didn't hear the weather report:
Tonight
Occasional snow. Areas of blowing snow. Additional snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Brisk with lows in the lower 20s. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 100 percent.
Saturday
Occasional snow. Areas of blowing snow. Snow may be heavy at times in the morning. Total snow accumulation of 12 to 15 inches. Brisk and cold. Highs in the mid 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 100 percent.

So, um... yeah. Are we really going to get hit that bad or are these reports just a bag of lies?
and I have to work tomorrow at 8am, this is going to be festive... :?

Mike Davis says 10-15 inches total. The record for Columbus in a 24 hour period is 12.3 inches.
Could be a paralyzed city on Saturday, or not.

Apparently we WILL get slammed....there's a lot of moisture in that there system. And the temps are falling....*peeks outside* ...and it's coming down as snow.... UGH! :x

Yeah, I saw 3 to 5 on weather.com as well.
If the local media is seriously saying 15 inches and they're not right, then perhaps this memo needs to get passed around again already.

I urge you all to forgo the local hype stations when getting your weather reports. Instead, go right to the source. NOAA says 1-3 by 6pm, 3 to 5 more over night and 4-8 by 2pm tomorrow. Total 8-16 inches for the system.
Time to head to your favorite empty parking lot an bust out some donuts!!!

No, this snow will cripple the city. Basic functions will shut down, city government will be crippled, and we shall be trapped in a barren wasteland that'll look something like the landscape of Road Warrior, only with snow.
I will attire myself in Tina Tuner gear, and now we shall really turn city center into the Thunderdome!
So kids, stock up on duct tape, saran wrap, and bottled water. It's going to be like the apocalypse! :o

I hope this weather doesn't lead to the "Great C-Note Art Swap"Ã¢â‚¬Â¦where 170 stranded artists, bored with looking at their unsold works, agree to just trade each other straight up and go home with a whole new set of drawings/paintings.

Whoo hoo, I was saving my gear for 12/21 2012 and the Mayan end times, but think I can still find my leftover Y2K supplies....?: do we eat the weak little children before or after the cats and dogs?

Pics of big snow storm in 2003. I know I missed one day of work from this. Walked to the carryout on 3rd and Pennsylvania and bought a lot of beer and built igloos! Fun times.

At least this one has good timing. I'm glad its falling on the weekend. When this stuff falls during the week it screws up my workday something fierce. It takes my 45 minutes + to commute to work because nobody can drive. Nobody shows up for work cause the schools are closed and there kids have no one to watch them. People whine all day about wanting to leave early to beat the snow.
I can sustain all weekend without ever having to get in my car. Walk to grocery, walk to bar, walk to UDF. I just have to survive my commute home tonight and I am set for the weekend!
