Anyone planning on doing any holiday shopping on the day of insanity this year?
There always a couple of local stores that do Black Friday deals too. Good day to support them and get some gift shopping done. ;)

What the Rock?! will have it's 4th Annual Black Friday Door Buster Sale starting at 8am! We usually have rotating discounts like buy one get ones, percentages off and free swag bags for our first 30 (or so) paying customers. This has grown into a very popular event for us over the years. Thanksgiving has new tradition: shopping
By Tim Feran
The Columbus Dispatch Monday November 21, 2011 10:49 AM

It’s not a holy day, but the 'sanctity' of Thanksgiving is something that retailers have mostly respected — until now. This is shaping up to be the year when more early-bird retailers finally break that last taboo and push their opening hours all the way back from Black Friday to Thanksgiving Day.

I loved the not-so-veiled snark,
One retailer that is opening on Thanksgiving is trying to cloak the move as a “tradition.”“This is a win-win for our brand and our shoppers alike,” said Tom Wyatt, president of Old Navy, in a publicity release, as the company “continues the tradition of giving shoppers a jump start on the Black Friday holiday.”
Old Navy, Banana Republic and Gap employees who had an inclination to enjoy another tradition — sitting down for a family dinner on a beloved holiday — apparently can be thrilled that they now must replace that tradition with another.
The idea of Black Friday as a holiday is something only accountants would love.
I used to love the Black Friday rush, but now as a point of principle I refuse to go shopping that day. There are very few sacred things anymore. I feel like Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays that can be celebrated by all Americans, and it should be. Who wants to buy Old Navy crap anyway?

This is tailor-made for a Wheel of Fortune "Before and After" puzzle.
I suppose this means that reports of trampling deaths will make the 11 o'clock news on Thanksgiving instead of the next morning.
