No - I know - I was going to say the same thing - maybe the answer is right under our noses, so to speak. I don't know much about those products, as I don't watch tv where people yell at me (I like quiet tv...remember Felicity? Nothing but quiet talkers - loved it!) But I am leary of household cleaners and products that are too good to be true...I swear my dad killed our cockatoo while he was cooking with a teflon pan...

The Shamwow guy is disgraced, Ron Popeil only sells his own stuff, so Mays has no heir apparent. Sadly, I forsee this being turned into a reality television opportunity. "Search for the Next Great Pitch Man" or something like that.

Sort of relevant, sort of not:
While teaching ESL, we were doing a lesson on global imports/exports. One of my students, who I'll call Tom, was an incredibly serious guy. I mean, he was humorless, always sat in the front of the class, took notes diligently, wore khakis and plain-colored polos every day of his life. Not a humorist, though a generally good guy. Needless to say, he was neither immersed in pop culture nor prone to joke-cracking.So we're listing different countries and discussing their imports/exports, and I get to Germany. I asked, "So what does Germany export?" My students, mostly Saudi Arabian and Chinese, thought for a moment, then Tom responded -- with the greatest sincerity and seriousness -- "Sham Wow. Germany is the original producer of the very famous Sham Wow." I nearly died.
That said, RIP Billy Mays. You kind of looked like my dad.

I don't own a television and rarely watch it but was annoyed every time I hear this guy screaming about detergent. I won't say that I'm stoked he's dead but won't say that I'm heartbroken.
Farrah Fawcett looked good, Michael Jackson danced well... Billy Mays sold old ladies shit they didn't need.
