I'm taking a bunch of Germans and American city planners on a Columbus bike / river parks excursion for the entire day on August 12 and need about 20 to 25 bikes to rent. Is this even a possibility in Columbus? If so can you steer me in the right place? Thanks so much.

Handy bikes rents bikes and they have two locations close to OSU campus and the Olentangy trail.
Wow, they seem to be a bit pricey though. I would call and see if they can work out a bulk deal.

Here is another thread from Yay bikes. As LO2W says, you may want to call Third Hand Bike Co-op and see if they can arrange something.

We have a garage of about 10-12 bikes we started using last year for the Gears and Garden Tour with the ACGA. I know we were able to work with the co-ops and some bike shops to add the remainder in.

We could probably round up 20 from Everyonebikes. It would be free.

I'd love to see what bikes are sitting in storage at the COTA bus garage. I've heard most are not ready to ride, but I am sure there are a few gems.

The COTA bikes- if they are the ones that eventually go to auction- are a horrifying mess. They were arguably unridable the day they rolled out of Target/Walmart/etc and have usually been beaten to hell and back since then.
We bought 20 or 30 sight unseen a few years ago... there wasn't a gem in the lot.

Interesting, I had assumed many of the abandoned cota bikes had been stolen. I hope they check serials.
