So recently I was invited to approach the bike seat for an art show. The concept was 35 artists were to custimize, paint, sew, burn, or what ever they wanted to create a one of a kind artistic interpretation of the bike seat. Seats were prepped by wrapping them in canvas. The event itself is called "Seat Beat" and is being organized by We the People Bikes. The event will tour europe and hopefully in early 2008 will make a stop here in Columbus.
Now for the reason behind my post. I have seen a large amout on people posting info on monday night ride as well as general bike questions. I need alll of your help if possible. I added some gearing cogs from bike applications as part of my artwork on the bike seat. This aesthetic is something I have ben harboring for some time now and finnaly had a project to use it on. The gears I would like to incorporate into more artwork, but I just don't have the access to the gearing needed to continue. So if there is anyone who may have loose gearing or old rear wheels that they would be willing to offer for free, trade for small art, or other bike parts I would really help my creative flow.
here are some images from my entry into the show
