Three more Big Lots stores to sell liquor

Big Lots is expanding its alcohol sales in central Ohio, another step in an effort to build sales of grocery items.
Liquor permits were issued recently to Big Lots stores at 68 N. Wilson Rd. and 2837 Winchester Pike in Columbus and 1171 Hill Rd. in Pickerington.

I have been to the Big Lots at Olentangy Rd. They have beer but it is Miller and Budwieser products at the same prices you would get them at a grocery store. I am guessing the aim is just to make it a 'one stop shop' for people who shop there for their discounted groceries.

Liquor? When I read that yesterday morning, I realized that Tim/Dispatch editors had a different definition of liquor. Liquor dosn’t necessarily need to be fresh. Beer, wine, Bailey's, Godiva, etc; caveat emptor.

^That's the first thing I thought of when I read that byline. I think it's funny when out-of-staters see $5 bottles of vodka in grocery stores and get excited. "Whoa, liquor's cheap here! And it's just sitting out in the middle of a supermarket!"
