We get a lot of traffic coming to our site through other local websites, blogs, and other online linkage, so I thought it might be nice to take the time to recognize some of those sites as our official BFFs of the month of July. Here's our top referrers in order (excluding search engine traffic):

it is amazing how CU gets such a high listing under google searches. That is how I found the site a few years ago. I may need some pointers on how this works walker!

The first thing you should do is take your index page and type every word you can think of in the smallest font size and then color it the same as your background. You gotta be a fast typer though. :wink:

Google is by far the biggest referrer to the site, so I left them off the list up there. ;)
Honestly, I've never done much in the way of SEO. The site has gotten a really high google ranking the old fashioned way... having lots of relevant, fresh content.

+1 Besides the fact I don't know how to do that, I think it's much better to just get into the Google algorythm with related content. Nothing is more irritating than when you google something and you get a ton of completely unrelated websites. Drives me crazy.

I'm with you guys. I don't know why people care about luring people to their sites who are just going to quickly realize that it isn't what they're looking for and hit the "back" button.
Exhibit #1: Go ahead and google 'problems with gays in neighborhoods'. My blog comes up as #2, with no SEO at all. :lol:
Really...someone was directed to my site using that search string today. Maybe I should be a little more sensitive when discussing the Gay St. Neighborhood.
