Once upon a time I took a class in web design. In which we didn't learn a darn thing other than basic (and now fairly useless) HTML. I now have a project on the horizon which might require that I build a website-- for a novice like me (with access to how-to books from the library, of course) what software would you all recommend?

Mac or PC? On the Mac, iWeb is dead easy, and since the upgrade to 2.0 it's surprisingly flexible. Depends on what you want to do with it, of course, but if it's fairly straightforward stuff it's simplicity itself. The biggest annoyance is that it's got a lot of prefab templates, and it's hard to get around using those, but they're reasonably non-ugly.

Thanks all! I use a PC and was considering Dreamweaver. CaD I may have to get some helpful hints from you in exchange for, say multiple bubble teas?
