What do you think is the best salad in the city?
I'm partial to the Aladdin's Salad with Aladdin's dressing at Aladdin's Eatery and the BBQ Chicken Salad at the Columbus Brewing Company. Any other suggestions?

I like the Balsamic Salad at Figlio - balsamic vinagraitte, pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes, and gorgonzola cheese.
Simple but great.
funny I just had the Aladdin's salad for dinner 30 minutes ago, it is ok, but definitely not the best. The best salad I have ever had here was at the old restaurant on grandview ave, where Thom's is now, the name slips my mind right now. they had a caeser that was 2 halfs of a head of romaine lettuce that had been grilled and then served with caeser dressing.

Never had that but it sounds really good. I also like a salad similar to figlio's that bon vie has abuot the same but they add seared tuna, and some potatoes and green beans, on second thought that might be my favorite salad in columbus.
Admittedly, it's been a couple years, but I used to love the steak salad at the Clarmont. Nothing remotely fancy, just good steak, good salad, and good dressing.
Flatiron for their black and bleu salad (grilled marinated steak chunks with blue cheese over greens and tomatoes) yum.
Cafe Brioso for their ... well all their salads rock... but the mozzarella cheese, croutons, and basil aioli is really swell. Their bbq chix salad is really good too, as is their chef salad.
Lindey's and G. Michaels both make amazing house salads with nuts and fruit... just outstanding.
Those are the ones I think of offhand...

That's a great pick, and actually kinda similar to the Clarmont, but I always forget about Flatironz.
I love the Claremont. I can't wait to go again.
Salad, the best is seriously either J.Alexanders or Anatola Cafe

I would have to agree. their salads are always amazingly fresh and filling. love the andy's chef salad (avocado, sprouts, bacon, romaine, croutons, etc), a peanut butter cookie, and a bowl of homemade soup for lunch. mmm.
Brioso is good...totally overlooked that one--plus their balsamic dressing is superior.
I can't pick one best because I heart salads in general, but I am very partial to the greek salad at Big Fat Greek Cusina with chicken or gyro meat on it (they make the best creamy homemade dressing), I like the house salad at J Alexander's because everything is chopped so nice and small and is always so crunchy and good. I like the smoked pulled chicken bbq salad at Barley's because it is a giant heaping pile of yummy mess and I like the prosciutto wrapped grilled romaine concoction at the Rossi. Nummers.
Now I want a giant salad for lunch. :D

The strawberry salad at Shane's Gourmet Market: fresh sliced strawberries, candied walnuts, gorgonzola, spinach, red onions and raspberry vinaigrette....deeelicious!
Strawberries make me cross-eyed with delight.
i'm not big on fruit in my savory salads.

I made this shortly after the first posting of the recipe, and can say..it was FAN FUCKING TASTIC.
wow.
The best salad I've had in Columbus was at Cafe Del Mondo and it was a blood orange salad with spicy micro greens and a vinaigrette. I had a beet and goat cheese terrine at The Winds which was good and a weed salad in Athens that was good purslane, lambs quarters, oxalis, wild ramps, fried oyster mushrooms and goat cheese. It was good.
the chopped salad at northstar!
for a salad bar i really love the Raisin Rack on Cleveland and Shrock
Northstar Cafe is the answer to everything in this life :)
