My karaoke bud moved to Indiana, and then my work hours changed so I haven't had a chance to get a chance to embarrass myself in public for quite some time.
So, does anyone else do this (or want to) and where would you suggest?
I used to go to AWOL on Monday Nights :D

Sometimes we'll go to Mickey's in Grandview. They usually have it on Thursday & Friday or Thursday & Saturday nights. Some nights it's the usual hole-in-the-wall bar crowd, and some nights it's packed with yuppies - you can never tell before you go!

The Outside Corner in hilliard has a decent monday karaoke night... They have some good drink specials and food too from what i remember when i went, i think i heard the karaoke lady say that they were going to start up some kinda karaoke idol contest or something in a few weeks and the winner gets a thousand bucks...who knows but its a fun spot!!

Otani has the real deal, crazy Asian karoake thing in a big way.
BTW, although I actually like Downtown Connections and have never shied away from hitting a gay bar...it's kind of important information I'd think when giving a recommend ;)

The clothing store directly across High St. from Rivet "hosts" karaoke during Gallery Hop and also sometimes during the weekend. I can't speak as to its "goodness", but I can attest to its volume. :roll:
Outland has SINk or "Service Industry Night karaoke" on Sundays, but I can't vouch for much on that one either (except stay away from the top shelf liquor) :wink:

I've heard that Otanis has Karaoke but have never been, and I like the idea of doing it in an official Japanese establishment, anyone wanna?
BTW, when I was in NYC last year I was in Chinatown in a restaurant where NOBODY else was dining (place was huge though) and they were playing karaoke videos from Japan in their huge plasma screens. Chick who was on the video had deer antlers and two fox tails hanging from her arse singing to a huge crowd (live action not animae btw), and you could sing along to the bouncing ball if you knew the language.
I really wish I knew what she was singing about.
