So, I loves me some Jazz, esp old skoo Jazz, n' I figure I can't be the only one... and I need to get out more, so...
Does anyone here have a favorite place, or a favorite night to go? I know of a few but I imagine folks here can come up with places I don't know anything about. :)

Dick's Den is the best! Plus the atmosphere is perfect (at least for me). I like my jazz adventurous & gritty, not polished and smooth. Dick's is a fucking hole in the wall dive, which is the most conducive place around to that sort of experience.
Park Street Tavern has Jazz jams too but check the schedule before heading over. It used to be a dedicated jazz bar when it was the 5:01 but now they mix things up, so be careful.

Dick's Den. It might be the obvious chioce but Blammo got it right. It's all about the atmosphere, beat up tables and $1 black label cans. Sunday nights are when a lot of the musicians who get paid to play on Fri and Sat head to Dick's. At least it used to be that way. I haven't been in a few years.

The band I work for, DeZoul Meet Orchestra (cool name, huh) plays at After 5 this Friday...but also at other spots around Columbus

Not to toot the horn sax of an out-of-town venue too much on a Columbus message board, but if you ever find yourself in the Canton area, I'm a fan of the Blue Olive. It's not the kind of place that has $1 black label cans, though.

With the Lincoln finally opening, it would be awesome to see a new bar/lounge in that area open up with a few Jazz nights.
