I would say your feeling was right on. I've never had an enjoyable time at Fado. I have been there with large groups and with just my roommate, and every time there's just something off. I will likely never go there by choice again.

On a positive the roommate and I wanted fish and chips on Monday and went to Claddagh on Front Street. The food was great as was the service. It was dead on Monday, but still felt friendly, not empty. I don't know why it's taken us this long to try out since it's so near by, but we will go back for sure.

Of all the Easton bars, Fado and Mo Joe are my two favorites. But I usually don't go in for the food.

@tourist - Front Street location, yep. I love the feel in there, especially on a chilly night with friends, drinking a few beers or some wine.

Monday was BOGO as well, right? Good deal.

It's probably hard to quantify "off" too since it's such a personal thing. I don't do Easton much anymore but when I do, I know both of those places will:

a) have my beer on tap or in the bottle
b) have bartenders who know their stuff
c) have the liquor I want

Fried pickles are a bonus.

[I'll also add that one thing it's good for is later night eats. Last time we went, my friend was starving and most of Easton was shut down.]

Hey it happens! That's why I never accept an overall review of a place on Travelocity or Yelp unless it's got more that 5 different reviews.

Yeah, Front Street. It was a good night out except for my hurt arm and her hurt back. We're a pair right now!

I've only been to Fado for soccer matches. It's a great place to see a match, but not really all that close, so I don't get there that often.

On the other hand Claddaugh is pretty good all around. I've eaten there a number of times, several when it was slammed and the food has always been pretty good. Personally I like the dark interior of Fado better, but Claddaugh is more comfortable (especially when packed) I think.
