This morning my wife and I had breakfast at a tiny place in Grandview called DK Diner. Good breakfast - awesome donuts. It got me thinking... what do you think are the best donuts in town? I was impressed with DK's (it stands for Donut Kitchen, after all) and I've always been partial to Der Dutchman's (although, yes, technically they're in Plain City), but are there others I'm missing out on?

I love the apple fritters from Andersons if you warm them up..... but they might be from Der Dutchman's, not sure.

Schneider's Bakery in Westerville.
I like Buckeye Donuts if I'm around campus, though.

The very best donuts come out of my microwave after I've had too much to drink. MMM...hot krispy kreams! They're like addictive inhalants.

About 3 years ago my fiance and I tried to go to the DK Diner for breakfast. I think it was around 10 or 11am, and they had a full breakfast menu on their door. However, when the server came to take our order, we were informed that they were out of eggs. And bread. We were a little confused as to what kind of breakfast we could put together without eggs or toast, so we left.
I had no idea they even served doughnuts - we never saw any!

You know, I'm dying to think of the name, but there was kind of a farm market out Dublin way back in the day...Tuller's maybe?
Those donuts were AMAZING!

A lot of food preference has to do with what you were used to as a kid...
I still think Dunkin Donuts is the best. They were all over the place when I was a little Soprano in Joisey...

I forget the name of it, but there is a mom & pop place in hilliard that only makes donuts. They are open from like 6am-1pm. Someone at work brought them in a few times. They are AWESOME.

I love donuts every which way. I never buy them because donuts cause me to have zero restraint. I have to say that I love krispy kremes when the store has the sign up that they are fresh and warm.
...drool.

I also used to get some good ones from a place on Kenny Rd. near Kenny and Old Henderson, but I can't recall the name to save my life.

And used to be a Jolly Pirate.
Where City Barbeque is now at Henderson and Dierker was a Dunkin Donuts. Run by an Indian family. The one morning, it was suddenly named something else with the exact same donuts and family.
When Whole Foods first opened up, they had some great donuts. Like several other of their baked goods, the quality dropped when the corporate team left.
Spudnuts. That is what we need.

Honey Dip! Ding ding ding! That place was always really good. Thankfully I live nowhere near there anymore so I can manage to stay away.

Did that change hands? The guy who opened it was a Greek who had worked w/ Niki (Fisherman's Wharf, etc) and Niki's wife helped out.
Haven't been there in ages.

well I take it back, they might not RUN the gyro shoppe but the same two guys who worked at donuts and coffee (that is what the name changed was) have worked at the gyro shoppe as long as I have been going there. 10 + years.
