What's your pick for best cheap drinks? I do like the occasional martini and pricey drink but I have respect for bars/restaurants that have tweaked their recession-friendly pricing (and still managed to stay in business)...I'm not talking Happy Hour because honestly I've never got out of work soon enough to make those specials worthwhile. I always go for consistent mainstays in the Lessner empire like The Betty Ford Clinic at Betty's (pink lemonade and well vodka) for $3, The Red Pop and Vodka at Surly Girl for $3, the Bottoms Up at Tip Top Kitchen (whiskey and RC Cola) for $3.

Just curious if anyone knows of other > $5 drink options at other local pubs/restaurants?

For the life of my I can't remember what it's called but Dirty Franks has a drink for around $4 that is a pint glass filled with orange soda and whiskey... mmmmm....

Almost ALL of our drinks are under $5 ALL the time. Well drinks are $2.50, most other call liquors from Stoli to Beam to Tanquery are $4.00-$4.25. Craft beer pints are $3.50 always, including Bell's and many other microbreweries.

Anything at Char Bar. The Short North Tavern will get you there, but Char Bar's drink quality far outweighs their cost in my humble opinion.

Love the Buckaroo Banzai, almost as much as I love the name.

Ravari Room does cheap drinks most of the time, and during Happy Hour (I know, I know, you said not to mention it, but it goes until 9pm on weeknights - I hope you're out of work by then!) all well drinks are a dollar. Pitchers are four bucks. Pizza is six. The crappy service is priceless.

I agree, Ravari does have pretty good pricess and a solid selection, and you're right, the gruff service is half the charm.
