I just had the calamari fritti appetizer at G. Michael's, and it was really good. The pieces were a little small, but the sauce (aioli with rouille) was helpful getting them on the fork (once I remembered to use a fork.) There were also a number of wonderful little tentacle bundles, which is always a bonus.

I LOVE calamari and have tried a lot of it and hands down, Press Grill has the best by a long shot. Super light and always amazingly tender. They say the secret is soaking it in buttermilk first.

I like the tentacles, I hate that they often get left out.

So, I stumbled upon this thread & have laughed myself silly. Holy shit everything Blammo contributed is pure comedy gold.
Also, Yau's salty spicy squid is the deal.
Double-also - I had just gotten myself under control, then read Bear's contribution. Oh lawdy.

The calamari at Z Cucina was very nice, with tasty sauces. Tourist19 and I split the chef's choice app and it had the calamari on it as well as other tasty goodness.

Piada has really good calamari. It's lightly breaded with peppers.

depends if you like the traditional breaded and fried or what. I had some really nice thai-themed calamari at Worthington Inn. it was sweeter, but delicious.

O Sam Bulgogi - Squid pieces with Daeji Bulgogi (Sliced lean pork in spicy marinated sauce)
it is truely delicious. it is not something I would have thought would go together (pork and squid), but it is a beautiful dish.
