So there.... See, this is the kinda "creative" things that CSO needs to do to attract a broader market and develop their following - could this be the result of change?!?!? :)

Agreed! Would be very cool to see them doing this type of crossover on a regular basis with musicians that would be a good fit with the CSO.

So I'm not sure how much credit the CSO should get.

Definitely a step in the right direction. CSO along with a lot of other orchestras across the country are dealing with the dilemna of how to reinvent themselves as their respective audience is dying off (literally). I think the Boston Pops did a show with Aerosmith or some other band that is equally interesting a couple years ago... and our symphony attempted to get Diana Krall & Elvis Costello at one point together to do Picnic with the Pops but were turned down.

very cool. i agree cso collaborations in the future would be great in developing a wider fan base. would love to see them play with my morning jacket (who have previously performed with the boston pops).

Awesome just bought 4 in the prime orch. Figure I can sell two later and go for free :-). I second the My Morning Jacket comment, saw them perform with the Chicago Youth Symphony at Lolla one year. Way intense!

Where did you buys tickets? They're not on ticketmaster, and I can't find a place to buy tickets on the vets memorial website.
EDIT: nevermind, found it on the columbus symphony orchestra website.

Tickets aren't sold out, but there is a problem with the website. (Thanks for bringing it to our attention! We are just getting ready to put all other concerts on sale for Monday morning, and we must have taken that down by mistake.) Sorry for the inconvenience- we are fixing it right now- but until it is back up, please call the box office at 614-228-8600 for tickets.

Also, check out our audio/video section to hear CD101's interview with Ben Folds about the concert. http://www.columbussymphony.com/Columubs_Symphony_Videos.cfm
