Does anyone know anything about the Belmont Casket Co. building in the Arena District? You can still see the company's name on a building when you're inside Huntington Park. I thought someone might know a historical source I could refer to about this.

"The Belmont Building is the former home of Belmont Casket, considered “the Cadillac of Caskets,†which moved to
Columbus in 1916. The building, constructed in 1885, sits near the intersection of Spring Street and Neil Avenue, with an entrance located off Cozzins Street. The fourstory building, which currently houses offices in addition to the Wexner Center galleries, is positioned in a high-growth area, just between the booming Arena District and the historically industrial River District."Google is a wonderful thing

Unfortunately, that info is a little out of date. The Wexner Center Galleries are no longer in the building.
I've looked in the past and find it difficult to find a whole lot about this building....
What kind of info are you looking for?Owner's site http://www.wittmann.com/

Check with the folks over at the Columbus Landmarks Foundation downtown. They are a veritable cornucopia of information about Columbus buildings and history. They also offer a number of events, such as walking tours of cool neighborhoods and a bus tour of points of historic interest around town.
