The owner of Beehive Books in Delaware at first resisted the idea of opening a store, despite spending 10 years as the manager of a "big-box" bookstore in Columbus. "I wasn't easily persuaded," said Mel Corroto, who once owned a coffeehouse in Youngstown.
But Corroto's would-be business partners - Linda and Joe Diamond - prevailed. The Diamonds have renovated several buildings in downtown Delaware, including the one that has housed Beehive Books since it opened in 2007.
