Brothers Drake Meadery is opening our doors at a new location! Located at the corner of 5th Avenue and Courtland, just a block off of High street, we are now situated at the crossroads of all that’s hip and happening in the Short North, Weinland Park and OSU Campus communities!
Join us for Gallery Hop! To celebrate we are hosting a juried art show that highlights the reason we’re in business – The Bee.
Bees have been a source ...of inspiration and life for us for centuries. We have depended on them to pollinate our crops and keep our landscapes abundant year after year. We are mystified by their secret hive ways or terrified by their cult classic movie appearances.
We’ve seen people wear beards of bees and we know that people have sometimes lost their lives to a deadly sting. The bee may be a more pervasive part of your life than you ever realized – or you may have a backyard hive that is a daily reminder of sweet reward.
The appearance of bees in art ranges from cave paintings to Disney. At Brothers Drake we want to showcase your take on the insect; is it honey & mead appreciation? Foodie political? Pro-pollination? It’s up to you.
We will be showing work selected for the event, serving mead, and hosting an open house with tours.
All artwork will be offered for sale.
10% of sales will go to Brothers Drake to cover reception costs
