I recently moved to the area and I am looking for a good bakery in Columbus.. Just looking for bread, not cakes or anything like that. Any suggestions?

Quite a few good choices. Most of the breads available from Tasi Cafe ard good, sourdough is exceptional. Omega at North Market is good. Le Chatelaine on Lane Ave, or Worthington make great baguettes. There are usually good local bread bakers at the farmers markets either on Saturday, or the Pearl Alley market downtown on Tueday/Fridays. Auddino's bakery near the OSU campus makes some really good, old-school italian breads, and rolls. I'm sure I'm missing some gems...

Address is 641 N High St Ste 107, but it is actually just off High. They make some really good cookies too.

Tasi is the offical retailer for Eleni Christina.
Other suggestions - depending on what type of bread you are looking for.
The Angry Baker in Olde Town East
Stan Evans Bakery in GrandviewMexican Bakeries
Panaderia Guadalupana (161)
Otro Rollo (Sullivant Ave)
Panaderia Oaxaquena Murray Hill RoadMiddle Eastern
Jaffa Market (Bethel/Godown)
Salam Market and Bakery (Columbus Square)

I second the recommendation for Otro Rollo on Sullivant. Their bread is great, and I think a bargain.
Two more:
Jurgens in German Village generally has good bread. Fair warning, the pastries can sometimes be stale, but the bread is consistent, and very good. I can wholeheartedly endorse the bread. She makes some multi-grain German-style breads that stand out from the other bakeries.Katzingers has good bread. They apparently get it shipped in from Cleveland daily, but whatever... it's good. They are one of the few places that I can consistently find rye bread, which is not so common in Columbus.

Most of the bread at Katzinger's comes from Mediterra Bakehouse in Pittsburgh. They sometimes sell at Pearl Alley Market as well. It is very good.
The Challah at Katzinger's is from Eleni Christina.Posted 1 year ago # -
I went to Eleni's today (where they actually directed me to Tasi) and purchased a loaf of sourdough. Delicious, thank you for your suggestion. I will definitely try some of the other places out.
