OKTOBERFEST in August! Forget about the IRISH - party LIKE A LUTHERAN!
Announcing the 27th ANNUAL ST. JAMES LUTHERAN CHURCH BRATWURST AND CRAFT FESTIVAL. Come and bring your friends and families! This is not your typical Church festival....this one offers lots of food and fun!
Menu:
Bratwurst (Mild or Spicy - the Church's own SPECIAL RECIPES), Pulled Pork, Shredded Chicken, Hot Dogs, German Potato Salad, Red Cabbage, Sauerkraut, Summer Salad, HILLIARD SWEET CORN, homemade APPLE DUMPLINGS, homemade pies and cakes, soft drinks and BEER TRUCK.
FREE ADMISSION!!! FREE PARKING!!!! FREE entertainment includes Restoration Jazz German Band - Friday and Saturday nights 6 to 9p.m. (think polkas.....), dancing if you wish (including the hokey-pokey AND the chicken dance) roving accordions (Musik According to Akkordians - Ken and Mary), and a performance by THE HILLIARD COMMUNITY BAND on Saturday at 1:00pm! Re-enactment of an 1880's baseball game featuring the Ohio Historical Society's travelling MUFFINS on Saturday at 2:00p.m.
FREE performance by the Columbus Mannechor on Sunday at 1:30p.m., followed by a German worship service in the Church's historic 1876 Sanctuary at 2:30 to end the festivities.
Non-carnival children's games (additional charge) on Friday and Saturday nights (5:30 to 8:30p.m.) featuring multiple JUMPIES.
CRAFT SHOW WITH 30+ VENDORS all weekend long!!!
Profits are divided between the Church AND area charities such as Lutheran Social Services, Faith Mission, Greater Columbus Habitat for Humanity, Food for the Poor charity and other local organizations such as Serving our Neighbors Ministries, Madison County HELP House and Hilliard Area Welfare Council. Over the 26 years of this event, over 70% of the profits have been funneled to our community. The more you eat and drink, the more that can be given!!!!
