Asking for a friend...Does anyone know of a place that makes them? I'm aware of the grocery stores, but she's looking for something better. Babushka's isn't...already checked. I did a quick search on here and also didn't find anything.
Thanks!

It's a Michigan thing and tradition big time.
Impossible to find anyone that makes a pasty around here as well.
It's not really a MI only thing - there's a heavier eastern European cluster in north/northeast Ohio too, Cleveland in particular. I'm not that familiar, but isn't there a location/area called Slavic Village or some such thing?
They were in big in upstate NY as well - huge Polish population. Columbus just doesn't have a heavy-enough concentration of Polish/eastern European folks, for them to be not-in-a-grocery.

Might be some truth to that, I never heard of them until I had moved to Michigan and discovered almost everyone ate them regardless of ethnic origin.
there's a Polish place at the North Market - maybe they can help you
I know the Little Donut Factory in Hilliard used to make Paczki around this time of year as a special. They changed owners recently, but it might be worth calling them to ask if they're bringing them back again.

Last year I checked that place (Used to be Hania's Old World Cuisine, now Hubert's Polish Kitchen - same guy) and he said they could make some for Fat Tuesday. Sadly, my schedule didn't let me get back around to the store to see if they truly had any.
And yes, their blueberry pierogies are amazing :D
Yep Blueberry. I've only seen them there once or twice. Very good, served with a sweet cream sauce over them. Definitely not heart healthy.
Dessert pierogi are actually very common in Poland. Americans just fell in love with the savory ones filled with potato, cheese, and/or kraut. Often times they can be filled with a sweet cheese not unlike cheesecake.
I do believe Euro Delicatessan carries some of the sweet pierogi (frozen). They have a zillion different kinds. It's a neat store/grocery in general, in a slightly odd location.
Babushka's is taking orders this year!

NICE!! Giant Eagle Market District is also selling them - already boxed, mixed selection. They also have King Cakes.
I totally forgot to pick some up in Cleveland yesterday. Too many things going on! The blueberry paczki I bought at Meijer last week didn't taste very good. The dough smelled like feet, and the blueberry filling had an odd consistency, and didn't taste like blueberry.
