I apologize if this topic has been discussed previously. I did a search and found nothing.
Anywho... I'm thinking about breaking up with Time Warner. Does anyone else have AT&T?

Hah! I wish. My girlfriend's parents have it at their place out in the suburbs (Kent), but my apartment in downtown Akron, which is three buildings away from the largest AT&T office in Summit County, can't get it. Check your coverage first before you start checking out the merits.
It's supposed to be a perfectly normal service, and that's been my experience every time I've watched things at their place: it's not that it has any big special features, it's just that it can do most of what normal TV watchers want for less than cable. One thing you may lose is the availability of certain sports packages; be sure to check, if you care about those.
The availability thing is key - it's still quite spotty.
I haev Uverse and really love it. I bundled Internet and Cable, then I have old school phone for $9 a month, and AT&T is my cell provider, so I can bundle the bills as well.
With Uverse, it operates a little differently than standard cable (box at every TV, ONE is the DVR), but I have been liking it 1,000 times more. I especially appreciate that I can access the one DVR from my upstairs TV, so I can stop watching something downstairs, and get ready for bed, and finish it commercial free.
If you don't already have a wireless router, their main server box also has pretty good wireless. I've been totally happy with the strength of the signal, and the ease of connecting (and connecting anyone that brings a computer to my house for a meeting, etc).
I recently (about a month ago now) got the Uverse TV service (internet included in my rent). Pretty happy with it so far, the equipment is nice and new, and the on-screen guide esp. is much nicer/better. Whereas with TW I rarely used the search function due to it's crapiness, I use it all the time with Uverse.
I will say, some of the HD channels look a little "softer" than they did on TW....but since each channels HD feed varies pretty wildly in quality it's hard to say what is at fault. It's nothing noticeable IMO, and I'm a bit of a snob about it.
As a big NFL fan I'm very glad to have NFL Network now, and look forward to getting the Red Zone channel come Fall.
When checking your availability, you might want to check your neighbors address too. I literally watched AT&T install the Vrad box right outside my apt. but was puzzled for months about my inability to get the service. Turned out it was a typo in their database.
uverse>time warner/wow. still kinda wish i could've just gotten directv, but it's still nice, much better interface
I've had DirecTV in the past; it's OK, but the channel guide is extremely unwieldy and loads slowly.
I switched to U-verse from Insight and have loved it. The customer service with AT&T has been 1000% better than Insights was. They will bring techs out next day if there is a problem, holiday weekends included.
I dont know about the price comparison with TW/WOW but U-verse saves me tons of money when compared to what I paid with Inisght.
We've had UVerse for a couple years now. We ditched the TV portion awhile ago, but use it for the phone/internet. We've had almost no downtown and the speed for the internet is quite affordable. DVR level TV was fantastic and much smoother in operation than other systems I've had - sadly it was more than we could afford.

I tottaly agree with Twixlen - We had U-Verse installed in January, the first time we've EVER had cable, and we love it. We have TV, internet (all wireless), and phone. Aside from it being expensive (I've never paid for TV before), it's great.

How long ago did you have it?
They have added TONS of search options. Recently they added an option where if you are watching a show, you can go to info to see who the actors/directors are, then click on their name and it will list what other movies/shows the actor is in.
I freakin LOVE DirecTv.

FWIW, Uverse also has this.

I freakin LOVE DirecTv.
Most recently in 2007, I think.
I responded to a door to door sales call offering me U-verse at an introductory rate of 34.95 a month, 15Mb/sec dedicated.
I haven't installed it or anything yet so I can't really speak to it's service. However, I just got my first bill. It was for $219.55 and I haven't downloaded a single byte.
Fuck AT&T. hard. in the face.

doorknockers are notorious for adding stuff you didn't even want.

oh that's the funny part- i saved the service order that I signed at the time of door knocking- there is nothing on there other than the promised promotional rate of 34.95. so the knocker didn't add it, the bosses at the other end did.
