I thought this deserved a complete post in Art, not just a side mention under the Red Brick district conversation.
I spoke to Ryan from the gallery and he mentioned that the correct address is: 246 South 4th street

I'll ask again, is this an art gallery or will they do ink there as well?
can't make the opening, but not because I don't want to.
I believe the ink part of it is on a contact only basis, it is not a walk in shop. She does however provide quality work.
The gallery is well prepared and this gallery is sure to lead a good life downtown.
The restaurant (Queen Bee) is also pretty awesome.
How about a gallery opening pre-party? Anyone up for meeting at the Brownstone on Main before this and having a few drinks? I think the BSoM is in the vicinity...
That's my plan. I'm not sure what time the opening is, but I'm willing to meet an hour or two before at the Brownstone bar and buy you a drink or two beforehand. Just say "The Artful Dodger sent me" and I'll buy you a drink...
yeah... in the vicinity.
So what time do Artful doors open?
hello all,
just heard a thread was happening here buzzing for the gallery.
please, feel free to ask me anything you may be interested to know about it. the actual opening begins at 7pm, ends at 11pm, on satuday, july 7th. and there is an "after party" next door at the Little Palace. actually, the Queen Bee will be catering the event, so come early if you want to get some of that.
ryan and myself will be there preparing for the crowd were expecting/hoping for, and will look forward to meeting new people, and enjoying the company of old friends as well.
Awesome! Welcome aboard! Thanks for posting! 8)
I suck.
I realized I'm not even going to be in town for this. Ug.
I owe you some whiskey.
Ben Devoe, I owe you some live painting. Sorry man.
I am so bummed.
I'm looking forward to making it down. Been talking to a new friend Ben about this gallery and he's been really talking it up and I'm looking forward to the inagural opening event.
I also can't wait to check out the space and opening event.
I believe the plan is that a few of us local artists will be doing a live painting session outside of the gallery. This will be tied into live music and the concept is the artist will feed off of the music and vice versa. SOme of the artists are musician as well. SO thius could turn out to be a pretty interesting event to watch and a great reason to step away from the hop for a bit and check out some downtown arts activity. I will post up promo material if it becomes handy in time.

So, yeah- I can't be there, but don't forget about this.
8) Bump
Shmendrick The Magician and the Last Unicorn (the fliers posted by Columbus Native above) is sort of affiliated with the Artful Dodger but it will actually be next door at The Little Palace. It will end up acting as the afterhours for the gallery opening although it will actually takeplace during it as well.
thanks
come to both it will be a great time
Thanks for clearing that up BD. It is good to see the artist lineup for the show posted. It looks like a great show with some true talent involved. I will be there with bells on and paint dripping.
can't make it, Have a great show!
I'm looking forward to it. Big thanks going out to Ben for getting me involved. Should be a nice messy time.
When is the painting supposed to start? I've got a few friends who are interested in showing up.
you know.. I am not sure
I would say as early as 6PM or as late as 8PM
the painting and music should kick off...
to be honest Jeff...
if you want to show at noon you can have at it all you want ;)
seriosuly though, the live music may have not started but I am leaving it up to the artists to begin when they feel like it
so... let have some fun!
I'm going to be late for this event due to my "feel really old at your 20th high school reunion" festival, but I'll be there smacking DeVoe in the back of the head and smiling at artwork.
