I'm not showing paintings in this show. In fact, you probably won't see the work of anyone who currently shows art in Columbus. The driving force behind curating this show is to contribute to creating a world where people can express their thoughts/hopes/dreams without reservation. What better place to start than with a group of creative, expressive people who are no longer expressing and creating as much as they used to?
There will be art on hand by a dozen or more local artists, three bands, and dj dave espionage. Check the site for details, links, etc.
I would love to have as many people come out and support these artists as they step into a larger context. This is not a BYOB bands and party type event. It will be fun, and refreshments will be available, but the focus of the evening is on art and these artists.
If you think the spirit of this show matches your current situation, you are welcome to join up. It is never too late to become a showing artist. If you would like to volunteer to support the Arts and artists (in this case, artists who are plunging back in to showing and making art again) I have plenty of opportunity for you to contribute. I've been incredibly inspired by the artists who are showing and how their work is a testament to the human desire to create- even against all odds. Business sponsorship is also welcome.
