This is going up across Lane from the Shops on Lane Avenue in UA. It looks like it's going to be a strip mall of some sort -- the sign says something like "a restaurant and retail development." I can find a couple news articles from last year on the zoning of the site, but nothing on what is set to go in the development. Has anyone heard anything?

Seems like a bad time and place to be building a strip mall given the economy, the fact that Kingsdale is still mostly empty and Shops on Lane Ave. still has some vacancies...

It is odd that they would opt for retail/restaurant at this location. I know UA has been pushing more for offices space to increases the tax base. More retail seems a bit silly for the area.

We need more places to eat ASAP......I am sooooooooooo sick of Busty Rucket. I would love to see Sushi (that had house/techno on Fri/Sat) of some sort go in where Ritters was or something like Marcella's

It's in today's Dispatch that a pizza place is going in the Ritter's spot. Carsonie's Stromboli & Pizza Kitchen -- they have one other place in Westerville.

if you go down the street to tremont, moretti's is way better than marcella's IMO

Yes, it's very silly. Imagine if there were a larger version of the retail at Waltham & Arlington. Now that would be smart and it could easily be a great destination, but let's dump another strip mall there.

Ate at Carsonie's the other day, carryout order was a half-hour late and the food was inedible. The "famous stromboli" was about 90% dough, "italian fries" are the same thing as Little Caesar's Crazy Bread (but not as good) and the cheesesticks were even nasty. Seriously! How do you screw up cheesesticks?

I know they just opened a couple weeks ago, but the ingredients they're using in the food are terrible, and it's not cooked well. If you want great Italian in upper arlington, go to Moretti's... if you want cheap italian, go to Cafe DaVinci... but don't waste your time or money at Carsonie's.

Here's hoping the other new stuff going up in the area is a little higher quality.

It won't be in UA but it will be close to it... there is a restaurant going in Upper West Columbus on West Broad & Algonquin, Margo's. Breakfast and Lunch 7 days with Dinner and Drinks on Friday/Saturday. There is a blog on here that talks more about it... you should check it out!

Sad to see that Arlington Commons still only has 1 client ("Nail Club.") Anyone have information on the City Wine Bistro that was supposed to go in there? (Not the exact name, just the best I can remember from the info I saw floating around a couple years ago when they demolished the houses on Lane to build it.)

The Wine Bistro has opened on Lane Avenue, in the Arlington Commons, across the street from The Shoppes on Lane.
