edit: For the record I own neither a bike nor a car, and drivers of both upset me.

Why do you support the attitude? Or at the very least defend it by putting the onus on cyclists? How does bullying our way through society (this win or lose, the biggest is right mentality) serve to better and strengthen our community?

I have no idea about strengthening any community. IT has nothing to do with biggest is right, it has to do with cars will kill you. The reason I don't like either is simple, cyclists and drivers are both equally horrible at what they respectively do.

I'm not making a direct comparison. I'm saying that both driving and biking are activities that can lead to an injury or fatality.
It sounds like you think that those risks alone are reason enough for people to give up biking entirely. I'm asking if you think similarly of the risks of driving.

Well, being that I do not own a car I guess the answer to your question is yes.
Oddly enough, my only mode of transportation (my feet) were being utilized when I was struck by a car on State a few weeks back.

most are skinny cause that way your sit bones are supported while keeping the rest of the contact area small so it doesn't chafe

one thing I see daily and women seem to do it more than anyone--------> after an entire day at the office with ample time to call anyone they wish the very first thing they do when they leave work is stick a cell phone in their ear and exit a parking garage without even looking
then again I have seen law enforcement do it too, like today at 4th and broad watching a lady cop trying to parallel park while talking on the phone.......that didn't work very well

I love counting random crap. I used to count how many times I would be in a car, stopped at a light and have to wait for someone to finish their text messages as they hold up traffic. It's easy to lose count on this one, which I often would.
Then there is the out to lunch factor. Where people's brains seems to be out to lunch when their driving and yakking on the phone, as they swerve all over the place like drunk drivers. I would see that one all the time as well.
The mobile using driving zombie effect makes it terrifying to be a pedestrian in Columbus, let alone riding a bicycle through traffic with oblivious people on phones, which carries a lot more risk.

+1 to this... though I'd add that I see people texting and on the phone at the earliest hours of the morning, as well... Who the hell are you texting at 6:30am, and why do they let you?
The majority of times I have had a close call on my bike or scooter, it has been someone on a phone.

How is being Mr. Overly Sensitive Captain Cyclist Advocate any different than recent vegans, Born Again Christians, Anti-Abortion advocates, etc.. who wrap their entire identity into something and are constantly sniffing at the table for scraps to validate their identity?
