just recieved this
As part of an effort to reduce parking meter costs to $.75 per hour, enforcement times near the Ohio and Palace Theatres will soon change. I am sending you this email so you can notify anyone who might be effected by the following changes:
1. Meter durations at 2-hour meters will be increased to 3 hours. Longer durations will allow theatre patrons to use on-street parking.
2. Meters will be enforced until 10:00 PM.
3. Parking meters will remain free on Sundays.
Anyone who is accustomed to free parking after 6:00 PM may not look at stickers on parking meters that inform them of the new enforcement hours. I recommend that you notify your evening employees and anyone else who might be effected by these changes to minimize the chances they will receive a parking ticket.
The City cannot state with certainty what day particular meters will be changed and enforced until 10:00 PM. For that reason, people should begin to read the stickers on meters immediately.
The City made these changes in parking meter policies in response to recommendations by a task force of business owners who felt that less expensive meters, longer meter durations, and evening enforcement would best serve businesses while generating the revenue required to guarantee bonds for the new Hilton Hotel on North High Street.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
