anyone else think E3 sucks this year?

With 50 different video game conferences throughout the year nobody waits to reveal their whole 12-month lineup in one place anymore.
I do like the new Resident Evil 5 trailer though. I will be shutting on my computer and cell phone for a few days when it comes out next march. ;)

I used to go to E3, press passes and all back when it rocked in the late 90s early 00's. I have quite a few friends in the biz too.
Bottom line is that the booths and exhibits started to cost too much money. (and the parties in the evenings) Video game companies in the last few years have been doing cut after cut after cut. They just dont see it as valuable as it used to be. Keep in mind it always was and will be just a 'show off' show. I mean there were games that were at the same E3 3 years in a row...heh.
So then the companies just started pulling out. The 'lil guys are not there with their innovative little games like they used to be. All you see are the mega-corps with their AAA games.
GDC seems to be a better venue than E3 now. That would be the next conference I'd like to go to. Granted I think last year it was in Germany... All the big companies are just starting to do their own conference the last few years also. ( See Blizzards conference in France where they announced D3 ). They would rather spend the money and have 100% of the media focus.

De-acronym that for me. I am not up on PS stuff.
If you mean the movie distribution and other content channels, they did prattle on about that a lot. I tuned it out.
btw - MS is up now. In all cases of I sick of hearing about edition N of the same flippin' games all the time. Where is the creativity?

Watch your 'Instant Watch' queue on the 360. And share w/ others.
That is cool. I can hook my laptop to the nice TV to watch stuff, but having it linked to the 360 is better.

Some sort of karaoke-like thing for the 360. LIPS.
They said music from 'your iPod' (and Zune) but I suspect it won't have the lyrics and video content they showed.

I've been very underwhelmed with the Wii lately.
Wait to see what Nintendo has to say for the rest of the show, but I may sell it and get a PS3 in a couple of months.
Some cool footage of RE5 showing the new co-op mode.
Also, Ghostbusters looks cool.
And of course, FF XIII.
But I think this game grabbed my interest the most.

I liked what I saw from Sony yesterday. Definite purchases for me are LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Bioshock, SOCOM: Confrontation, God of War 3, and the new Ratchet & Clank game. Other promising titles are Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2, and MAG (256 person online multiplayer?!?!).
