I'm thinking about buying a CSA (community supported agriculture) share this year. I've read all of Lisa the Waitress' great tips over at Restaurant Widow, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with other farms. I also saw the A-Live article on New Century CSA, which delivers to houses. That sounds good. Would I have vegetables coming out of my ears? Because one of my favorite summer passtimes is haunting farmers markets and buying fruits and veggies. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Green Edge Acres in Athens, OH has half CSA if it is just for one person. I am planning to do my own really large garden this year, so not sure if I will get a CSA also. Might just frequent the farmer's market.

I am going to do a CSA from Paige's Produce (a half share is $290) one of the pickup spots is Pearl Alley so I can grab it during my lunch hour at work. I haven't done one before but I am really excited to hopefully have a bunch of produce coming home w/ me on Fridays for a weekend of fun cooking. (Lisa's documentation of her CSA helped put me over the edge)

It would be for two. I tried planting in my tiny, shady German Village yard. The soil needed lots of improvement after 100 years of neglect. Tomatoes were a total bust. The only things that did good were hot peppers - I had more habaneros that any person could eat in a lifetime off just one plant - and herbs.
