The people of the West Side have more pressing social and economic issues to worry about than bike lanes. I would say that having bike lanes on West Broad Street is most likely the least of their worries.
As for the casino, the majority of the people on the West Side, especially in Franklinton, voted for the casino. They want the casino because they believe that building and operating the casino will provide them with jobs. Certainly, in the short amount of time that you have lived on the West Side, you will have noticed that this part of the city is one of the most economically challenged. Do you feel that it is an elitist moral judgment to tell then that the casino will ruin their families and lives? (I don't have feelings one way or the other on the casino myself).
Your blog looks nice, and, clearly, you are a good writer. I like how it's laid out like a newspaper as well.
But will your blog discuss issues pertaining to the majority of the residents on the West Side, or is it going to cater to the opportunistic yuppies who are attempting to gentrify it (thereby forcing out the blue collar and lower income families who have made up the majority of the West Side's population for years)?
Just wondering.
