Hi All -
Hungrywoolf, CMHGourmand and I have started a new blog - alteatscolumbus.com.
The general idea behind the blog is to try to generate exposure for the diversity of offerings found in some of the less well known (often immigrant-run) restaurants in the city... and to do this in a manner similar to how we used tacotruckscolumbus to try to raise awareness of the mobile food vendors of the latino community. Our time spent in the taco truck rich parts of town opened our eyes to how much interesting stuff there is out there (beyond taco trucks) that flies under the radar.
We've been researching (yum) and writing new posts at a furious clip, and have a long list of places we still need to check out.
We know our list is far from complete, though, so we'd like to ask the members of CU - since you've all been so helpful in and supportive of our taco truck adventures - for your input on the matter.
Do you have a favorite 'hole in the wall' restaurant that nobody seems to know about? Is there some place you've driven by often and been curious about but never tried? We'd love for you to post it here.
And, of course, we'd love for you to use the blog as a resource. If you're an adventurous eater on a budget, I'd wager that this should be interesting to you - almost all of the places we've been to have been in the $10/person or less range... sometimes considerably so. And often exceptionally good, at that!
Like TTC, alt.eats has a map as well as the blog, with as much interconnectivity between the two as we can manage. So come on over, kick the tires, and let us know what you like, don't like, and (most importantly) what is missing.
Thanks! - the alt.eats.columbus team
